Lights of Leamington Spotlight Festival
Delivered by BID Leamington in partnership with Slate Events, Whittle Productions and Warwick District Council with UKSPF Funding, and also supported by Royal Leamington Spa Town Council and Warwickshire County Council.
In February 2025, we launched the Lights of Leamington festival, which was the culmination of around four years of planning and fundraising. This comprised two feature events and several supporting events.
Over 6700 people attended the ‘Switched on Stories’ exhibition in All Saints Church (8-23 Feb), and over five days, a whopping 39,000 people visited Jephson Gardens for ‘Spotlight Festival’ (19-23 Feb).
We hosted two sold-out Candlelight Concerts and two nights of Silent Disco, and enjoyed meeting over 700 children and 280 adults at our free half-term workshops.
The ‘Power of Love’ heart trails also aimed to bring people in and around town and we were featured on ITV and BBC news, among others.
We wanted this project to benefit local businesses, bring joy and positivity to the community, and to ‘put Leamington in lights’. This drove decisions such as encouraging visits to local businesses (with no outside traders on site), delivering it in the February half term, and securing grant funding to keep the majority of the festival FREE to attend.
