MONITORING Town Centre Health
TRACKING THE CHANGING DATA
Understanding the health of a town centre, by monitoring data received from a wide variety of sources can inform strategy, activities and initiatives to help recovery and growth. The impact of Covid, changes to customer behaviours, increases in parking charges, roadworks are all monitored and used to leverage support and investment into Leamington. We also use this to measure the trends of Leamington compared to the national picture through our BID network, High Streets Task Force and Regional Local Enterprise networks.
Data Sources
BID Leamington receives data from a wide variety of sources including:-
- Footfall data – we have two cameras on Parade measuring footfall by the second. We are happy to provide updates by request.
- Parking statistics and car park usage – on-street parking is managed by Warwickshire County Council and off-street car parks, excluding the Royal Priors, are owned and managed by Warwick District Council. We request and compile data on ticket sales / income, dwell-time, and enforcement and look for issues and trends.
- Number of Shop Vacancies – we audit and report on this.
- Individual business information (received in confidence).
