Why Voting Matters
Voting to renew BID Leamington is an important decision because if it is not supported, the town centre will lose almost £1.9 million of investment over the next five years and businesses will lose important support and representation on local and national issues. This decision will impact not only local businesses but also the local community who value and enjoy many of the events, promotions, and enhancements that BID delivers.
“To have BID Leamington out of the equation would leave a significant gap… when we were looking to invest and open our business in the town, everything we saw that was compelling came from BID Leamington. The BID is the face of Royal Leamington Spa”
(local business comment from BID consultation)
So what happens if BID Leamington does not receive majority support in the ballot? Simply put, all of the promotions, events (such as the Food Festival), websites, social media accounts, floral enhancements, town centre management, business support services, and representation described in the Business Plan and across this website would cease. The town’s Christmas lights would also significantly suffer without BID investment.
However, there is far more to be gained from understanding what is delivered and we know that businesses that get involved gain significant value from BID projects and services – as set out in our summary of key achievements and business benefits below.
We also have exciting plans for the future, including the continuation of events such as the Food Festival and new events aiming to put our town centre on a national stage, alongside the continued promotion, support and representation of local businesses. Given the opportunities and changes ahead there has never been a more important time to continue investing in the future of our town centre. Please read our Business Plan 2023-2028 to find out more.
